Who is in charge: function or division
Organizations are still trying to find the right balance between structure, strategy and situation. They are looking for a structure encompassing resource, market/customer, process and leadership efficiency. The organizational structure of a business determines its architecture and therefore has a decisive influence on how fast and at what cost it is able to respond to customer requirements.
Not every form of organization is suitable for every business, as its organizational structure depends on different factors such as company size, service portfolio or production technology. A structure that divides a company into functions might provide a clear overview, but it tends to lose sight of individual products, the market and the customer.
We at HRDT focus on building a customer-oriented organization in an era of digitization.
